CRPF Full Form –

The full form of CRPF is Central Reserve Police Force. CRPF full form in Hindi is केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल. It is a paramilitary force which is the largest central armed police force in India. CRPF works under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Its primary goal is to assist the state and union territory governments in maintaining law and order in their areas. It is headquartered in New Delhi. The CRPF Academy has been set up by the Government of India to train young candidates to join the CRPF.

What is CRPF ?

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its function is to assist police operations in states and union territories to maintain law and order and to prevent extremist activities. It has been deployed in anti-Naxal operations in the last five years. It became the Central Reserve Police Force after the enactment of the CRPF Act on 28 December 1949.

Along with this, CRPF has been playing a more important role, especially when it comes to election related duties in the states, only CRPF personnel are deployed for election related violence and booth capturing.

History of CRPF

• CRPF has participated in many wars for India such as with China in Ladakh in 1959, 1965 war against Pakistan etc.
• CRPF jawans killed all the terrorists in the attack on Indian Parliament in 2001.
• In 2005, terrorists tried to bomb the Ram Mandir / Babri Masjid complex in Ayodhya, but the CRPF also killed those terrorists.
• The Central Reserve Police Force is the largest police force for India’s internal security.
• The Crown Representative Police was established in 1939, which was designated as the Central Reserve Police Force by an act in Parliament on 28 December 1949.
• Soon after independence, the CRPF was sent to the border of Kutch, Rajasthan and Punjab to investigate infiltration and crimes along the Indo-Pak border and was later deployed to Jammu and Kashmir to stop the intruders.
• CRPF also supported the Indian Army in the Indo-Pak war in 1965 and 1971 and many of the CRPF soldiers martyred in it.

• Control of mob and riots

• To counter the nasal operation
• Security of VIPs and critical installations such as airports and powerhouses
• Providing security during elections in sensitive areas
• Assisting the armed forces in times of war
• To monitor environmental degradation and protect local flora and fauna
• To participate in the UN Peace Keeping Mission
• Conducting rescue and relief operations during natural disasters

How to Join in CRPF –

The candidate has to complete 3 steps for CRPF  Selection .In CRPF Selection, the candidate has to appear for written test, physical test, medical test and interview.

Recruitment process is done for many posts in CRPF Recruitment 2019 which is as follows:

• Assistant commandant
• Sub inspector
• Constable
• Assistant Sub-Inspector
• Head constable
• Physical Efficiency Test

Physical Efficiency Test
After passing the written test of CRPF, physical test and medical test are called. It has a 100 meter run, which has to be completed in 16 seconds (male) and 18 seconds (female). And there is a long jump of 5 meters and 3 meters, high jump of 1.05 meters (male) and 0.90 meters (female). Medical test is done after passing physical test.

The candidate will be given three chances to fulfill the minimum requirement in long jump and high jump. If the candidate fails on any one of these three occasions, he / she will be disqualified.

Assistant commandant

• Assistant Commandant in CRPF is recruited by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Interested students can appear in the exam of CRPF Assistant Commandant through UPSC. Some qualifications are sought for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant, which is explained to you further:

Education Qualification
The candidate must have a degree of graduation from a recognized university established by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an Act of Parliament or incorporated by other educational institutions.

Age Limit –
The minimum age limit of the candidate should be 20 years and the maximum age limit should be 25 years, however for SC / ST category candidates, the maximum age limit can be relaxed by five years.

Written Examination
Paper-I: General Aptitude and Intelligence – This paper will be of 250 marks in which objective type questions will be asked, which will be in English as well as Hindi.
Paper-II: General Studies, Essays and Comprehension – This paper will be of 200 marks, in this paper candidates will be given the option to write an essay in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precise Writing, Comprehension Components and Communications / Language Skills will be English only.

Sub inspector

• For admission to the post of CRPF Sub Inspector (SI), the candidate has to take the written test first. After passing the written examination, physical tests and medical tests are called.

Physical efficiency test

• 1 mile run has to be completed in 6.5 minutes.
• Three opportunities are given for a long jump of 12 feet.

Written exam

• Paper-I: Questions are asked from General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Ability. For which 200 marks are prescribed.
• Paper-II: In Essay In Hindi or English and Precise Writing (English) and Comprehension of Given Passage In English, questions are asked. Whose 100 marks are determined.

Constable (General Duty)

• For admission to the post of Constable (GD) in CRPF, the candidate has to take the written test first. Educational qualification for Constable / GD in CISF is 10th class pass from recognized State Board / Central Board.

Physical efficiency test

• Height for men: 170 cm
• Height for women: 157 cm
• Chest: 80 cm without inflating for men only and 85 cm when inflated
• Weight (for men and women): according to medical standards should be proportionate to height and age.

Written exam

• There will be only one objective type paper in the written examination which will have 100 questions of 100 marks.
